Saturday Evening At Home!~

Well we are spending this Sat. night at home. We were expecting snow flurries here today and it snowed all day long~didn't stick~but the flakes were beautiful. we had our tag sale fundraiser~along with the snow. We had a pretty good crowd for snow. You know how sales go~they come in droves and then no one for a while. I did better than I thought I did. We each had to pay $15.00 for a table spot~I made $94.00 including what I spent. I posted a couple pictures of things I picked up. The little 4 drawer cubby was $2. I'll paint it up sometime~the wooden band box was $3. Ill decorate that up with some greenery this spring. I also bought a lg. pickle jar for .25~ and 2 pair of shorts for the daughter. It was open from 8-2 but I skipped out of there at noon. that snow was coming down so pretty and I knew I had things I could be doing at home. It seems if I'm gone all day on Sat. and then Sunday church I get nothing done and my weekend is gone before I know it. we do have spring break coming up in about two wks. The hubby is taking a wks vacation and we are laying new flooring down in the dining room and are going to try and reuse the dining room flooring in Taylors rm. We have never heard of anyone doing that. worst comes to worst well have to purchase more flooring for her rm. the flooring in the dining rm we layed a few yrs ago and it is a lighter shade than the living rm.~ so we have bought red oak to match up with the living rm. and are going to try and reuse the lighter flooring in Taylor's rm. We'll see how it goes. It's completely moving out two rms of furniture and repainting Taylors in the process. Should prove interesting. Mike and I do work well together usually.
The flag and star I ordered from Kruenpeeper Creek Gifts. I plan on using the small tea stained flag and 18" star in a summer grapevine wreath. I have seen one for big bucks and I think I can copy it, for a whole lot less. I paid $15.95 for the flag and $9.99 for the long barn star. I also bought the votive candle warmer for half price~$6.50~been wanting another one of those and they always send a cute note pad with your order. I love that store. Go check it out www.kpcreek.com Well it's cold cold outside tonight, a few days this wk it was 65 and later in the wk its suppose to get up in the 70s. But it's cold tonight so we ordered good old Pizza Hut and are snuggled in for the night. I'm headed upstairs to my craft rm to work while a good movie on Lifetime is on at 8:00 , America with Rosie O'Donnell. You all have a warm night too!

Painting Away!

Hi everyone, man it's cold here in Kansas. No snow, I'm almost jealous all the pics you ladies post with all the snow. We are suppose to have sleet on Tues. not enough to keep us home from school though. Darn! But it is cold and cloudy. It's been a good day to finish up some projects. The kittys got the right idea lounging by the fire. I stopped by the goodwill a few wks ago and found this mail/bill drawer and I almost forgot to take a picture before I started painting. And found some frames at the $tree. I painted them up and I like the looks of it. I'm headed up to the craft rm. to work on some samplers for the frames. I found this towel rack a while back and just decided to hang it in my dining rm. Well tomorrow is weigh in day @ww. I've lost 7 lbs. in 2 wks. I'd like to get to 10lbs. tomorrow! WE'll see. I don't want to jinx it. I do feel better just because Im doing something. I need to get on that treadmill! Well, I had better get upstairs and get something done. You all have a great wk.

Someday Craft Shop!

Ok Ladies, its a long ways from being finished but here is some pics of the potting shed/craft shop. Its pretty bare. We had a work bench along one side that we took out a few days ago. It made it look bigger. When we talked about turning the shed in to a craft area, I thought it might be to small. Now looking at it I worry if I can fill it? I'd like to do a lot of repurposing of items and some sewing things. I'd like to get into maybe some wholesale stuff but I know alot of wholesaler require a min. order and I don't want to tie up alot of overhead. But I would like to be able to buy some things wholesale, like materials-garlands and supplies and such. I'd love to be able to paint. Ive seen old things with snowmen painted on them. I've always wanted to paint. One wall is peg board, but I'm not sure if I want to keep it. Id like to find alot more old doors and screens and line the walls with them. i have purchased alot of barn wood I intend on using on the walls. well it will sit for the winter. I have been moving some for my tag sale finds in there for the winter. Well I have laundry to fold. Yes, I know the 13 yr old should be doing that task. Her and her dad are in there playing on her new Wii. Have a great week. I head back to school tomorrow. Ive' enjoyed getting up each morning with my cappachino to visit with you all. Ill catch up with you another day!

Potting Shed

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a wk. I hate that. Yesterday I hung around the house cleaning up and finishing odds and ends. Don't you just sometimes have to do that? I finished putting butcher paper on the back of my samplers. Cleaned my craft rm. up a bit. Ill have to post some photos of that sometime, its a mess tho. Ive made some snowmen for my booth this wk. Mike took a wks vacation last wk to work on the potting shed. He will about double it when finished. The back part will be for mowers and the 4 wheeler and garden stuff. The front I'm going to make into a shop this next yr. Its in the back part of our property. Its pretty bare right now. the studs of course show and we have peg board on on wall, and a potting bench. When we get ready to fix it up we will tear all that out. I do like the walls bare. I have been saving pics of some of your shops to show Mike. I want it "old shed" like. It has a cement floor, not sure what I want to do with that? The third photo is a Santa I bought from Country Sampler with my prize money. Well better go and get something done. Have a great Sunday!!

Hi everyone, its been a busy weekend, hot but we did have some rain. My yard can use it. We have a nice spring fed well that I water the yard and flowers with, but when it can come from the good Lord, Ill let him! Had a busy week end finished the set of prim jars. I love how they turned out. Jars and box came from tag sales. I printed in fabric and grunged the tags. It sits in my tv cabniet. The little red basket. What a find. We took a trip to Branson three wks ago and went to a 5 and 10 store. Nothing cost 5-10 anymore, but it had the old original counters and flooring. On top of each isle shelf were old old washing machines, ect. Just had lots of vintage items not for sale but on display. Anyway, as you enter the store they had old displays these old red fabris and metal basket you took one to shop with. Ask if they were for sale. Oh no those have belong to the original old store. I was so dissappointed. Went home the next weekend and ther in the bottom of a box was this basket for 3.00! Yea!! took it home, I thought it would be perfect for the 4th of July. The chicken coop was a great fing at a tag sale, pd 25.00 for it hubby took it home and put it on legs and roofed it for me. I need to find some stuffed chicken. It sets out buy the playhouse/now turned into pool stuff storeage. The wee one has outgrown the playhouse Daddy built her. The other box and jar display sits on a sofa table in the living rm.
