Saturday Evening At Home!~

Well we are spending this Sat. night at home. We were expecting snow flurries here today and it snowed all day long~didn't stick~but the flakes were beautiful. we had our tag sale fundraiser~along with the snow. We had a pretty good crowd for snow. You know how sales go~they come in droves and then no one for a while. I did better than I thought I did. We each had to pay $15.00 for a table spot~I made $94.00 including what I spent. I posted a couple pictures of things I picked up. The little 4 drawer cubby was $2. I'll paint it up sometime~the wooden band box was $3. Ill decorate that up with some greenery this spring. I also bought a lg. pickle jar for .25~ and 2 pair of shorts for the daughter. It was open from 8-2 but I skipped out of there at noon. that snow was coming down so pretty and I knew I had things I could be doing at home. It seems if I'm gone all day on Sat. and then Sunday church I get nothing done and my weekend is gone before I know it. we do have spring break coming up in about two wks. The hubby is taking a wks vacation and we are laying new flooring down in the dining room and are going to try and reuse the dining room flooring in Taylors rm. We have never heard of anyone doing that. worst comes to worst well have to purchase more flooring for her rm. the flooring in the dining rm we layed a few yrs ago and it is a lighter shade than the living rm.~ so we have bought red oak to match up with the living rm. and are going to try and reuse the lighter flooring in Taylor's rm. We'll see how it goes. It's completely moving out two rms of furniture and repainting Taylors in the process. Should prove interesting. Mike and I do work well together usually.
The flag and star I ordered from Kruenpeeper Creek Gifts. I plan on using the small tea stained flag and 18" star in a summer grapevine wreath. I have seen one for big bucks and I think I can copy it, for a whole lot less. I paid $15.95 for the flag and $9.99 for the long barn star. I also bought the votive candle warmer for half price~$6.50~been wanting another one of those and they always send a cute note pad with your order. I love that store. Go check it out www.kpcreek.com Well it's cold cold outside tonight, a few days this wk it was 65 and later in the wk its suppose to get up in the 70s. But it's cold tonight so we ordered good old Pizza Hut and are snuggled in for the night. I'm headed upstairs to my craft rm to work while a good movie on Lifetime is on at 8:00 , America with Rosie O'Donnell. You all have a warm night too!

Tag Sale Fundraiser

I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted last. I have had time to catch up on most of your blogs, but didn't have much to add lately! In the morning I am involved in a fundraiser tag sale/bake sale. My daughter and many of her 8th grade classmates are taking a class trip to Washington DC the end of May. My husband Mike is going along with several teachers and other parents. We have already paid their way but have been involved in some fundraiser for some spending money! I know they will have a blast. Mike has been to Washington DC before. He enjoys all that history so much. I'm so relieved he is going with her. She has never flown before. In the morning we are having a lg. tag/bake sale. Anything you sell at your table is your own profit! I set up this evening, so I won't have to get there so early. I have a few things from my craft show I took~and then just some odds and ends. I am going to help my mom get one done this summer. She is due for a big one. I usually have one every other yr. or so. I really didn't have much to sell. Well I am getting close to my 100th post. I have all my goodies ready for my giveaway! I have been working hard on it! Everyone be watching! Have a great weekend~

Great Swap Goodies!!

Ladies, I just wanted to drop a post and let you see what I received in the mail today from Terry for my Valentine swap!! Don't you just love the penny wool eggs. Terry, you did a great job, the stitching is flawless and the colors are perfect for my living room! I was so excited to reach the mailbox this afternoon, I turned the car off in the driveway and opened my package there. My daughter was saying Mom lets get to the house first! I said No I've been waiting for this all week. thanks again Terry, I love them. I took a few pictures of some things in my bathroom I made up this weekend. I made a Washroom label for the bucket on my washstand. I have a couple towels and a grater with a few old clothes pins tied with old twine. the other picture is a granite ware bowl with some coffee stained clothes and a couple grater and clothes pins, then, it probably wasn't the correct way to do this, but I grunged up a few bars of ivory soap. I painted them with modge podge and dipped them with cinnamon and modge podged them again. It works for my purpose~ they kind of look like old lye soap~ I have this sitting on the sink counter. Well I'm posting this during commercials of American Idol. Running back and forth. Gotta go, it's back on, you ladies have a great evening and thanks again to Terry for the great swap goodies!!

Crocks, frames and projects!

Two post in one day, I could scare myself! But it is getting me closer to my 100th post, and I do have a giveaway ready!!! Yesterday, I hit a few TS in Joplin. The big blue frame was an 08 calender. I could see it painted black and a nice big sampler put in it. I picked up a couple more nice frames I plan to paint. I got home and realized I now have tons of them. I need to stop with the frames. I loved the crock I found for $1.00. I put it on the hearth of the fireplace. I've had my eye open for old cutting boards, without having to pay to much for them. I think I pd. $3.95 for this one. I like the look of those I see on many of your blogs behind a crock on a counter top. I am wanting to get some pine to make a noodle board for my gas stove. I want one of those so bad! I have a hard time passing up any grater and the long old treenware with the cinnamon sticks i liked, I will possibly put a candle in that with some small berries. I have finished some small samplers in those $ store frames I bought a while back. I like how those turned out. I like to watch TV and stitch in the evenings up in my craft rm. Taylor is going to a Valentines Dance tonight. Had to have a new sparkly dress and shoes. To be in 8th grade again, no actually I wouldn't want to do that again~
all her little friends are meeting at a friends house to get ready. Maybe I'll post a picture of her tonight! well I have better go see what else I can get done before the day is over. Have a great one.

Check Out More Goodies!

Well my luck seems to still be hanging on! Today I received my package from Beehind Thyme. from her 1ooth post giveaway. I got the cutest salt dough watering can and sunflower ornaments! Aren't they adorable? I will have to find the perfect spot for them. And I hadn't posted about my labels I bought off Ebay from Natalie from blue cupboard primitives! I haven't had time to do anything with them yet, oh but I will. I am nearing my 100th post. I do plan on having a giveaway for that! I have been working on a few things for it. I'm excited. Be looking back soon for that! We are having our senior high enrollment tonight. I can not believe my child will be attending high school next yr. AHHHHHHHHHH! It's not possible. We meet with her adviser for 9th grade and begin thinking about her 4 yr. plan and what she has interest in after college. She has mentioned maybe an elementary teacher? But that could change , this coming from the child who at about 8 yrs. old said one day. " Mom, I can't decide if I want to be a veterinarian or one of those girls who make the sandwiches in subway!! She thought the kids behind the counter had the most awesome job! We laughed until we cried! I told her then that maybe she could work at Subway in high school and then go on to college to be a vet! She is so funny!!!!

Got My Goodies!

Ladies, I received my goodies from Dots giveaway @http://picketsplace.blogspot.com/ I love everything. Miss Bunny has found the perfect spot in my living rm. and this spring I will add the bunny plate to my spring decorating! I love the journal and notepad, and have the bookmaker in my latest book. Thanks again Dot for the cute treasures! I have been home from school for the second day. I pulled myself out of bed and made it to the doctors office. I have a sinus infection, he gave me an antibiotic and said I'd be feeling better in a couple days. I thought I'd feel like going today, but I didn't. Slept till 10:30 and now by late afternoon I am beginning to feel more like myself. This past weekend was nice. Temp was in the 70's so I painted some frames up I got from a flea market. I loved the little galvanized bucket ($4.00) and the grater for ($3.00) Well I had better get around to pick up Taylor from school. Have a great rest of the week!
