Sleigh Bells Ring, Are You Listening...

Got a ll my fall stuff put away when the weather was really warm. So it's officially Christmas time here at our house. Just a little greenery on the deck to greet the guest.
Santa has left his red long underwear once again at the door on the sled.
For the last several years I have opted for two pencil trees together instead of my big tree.
Frostys hat has landed atop the tree!
I grudged up a few dollar tree Santa hats a few yrs ago and just love them on top of a small tree near the fireplace.
The old mailbox slot cabinet above the couch.

I chalked an old window frame that I found along the road this summer. Junk Sale!

Santa on an old couple of wooden crates.
This year is the first yr. I have put a sled on the kitchen island. Saw it on another blog!
Used some garland and a jingle bell or two along with an old grudged up tag.

 Dining room table.

An old tool box my cousin found for me all gussied up for the winter holidays. I find every yr. I'm starting to put out more winter things that I can keep out all season. Id like to get to a point some yr and just use winter and junk to decorate with. Old tools, attachments. Ill have to start looking this summer at tag sales.
I was thinking about something new for a few of my living rm. cabinets and I thought aha a couple old rusty mailboxes I have out in the yard. I grudged up a few envelopes and addressed a few and slide them in the mailbox!!

A country Christmas with a few mason jars and lights. It reflects so pretty at night. Another old window frame I chalked up.

Bring on the snow!! Have a great week!!

Miss Fashion Neewollah 2012

Its been along time ladies. The fall weather is upon us here in Kansas. I have been so busy with my daughters activities in our hometown. As I have mentioned before we here in Independence celebrate Neewollah, (halloween spelled backwards. Its a week long celebration starting off with a musical, followed by a talent show of Senior girls from our local high school. My daughter Taylor on the right was crowned Miss Fashion! We are very proud of her. Sorry my pictures are backwards on this post.
She is seen here with Miss Talent, classmate Erin during one of the many parades we have in the week.
This was the kiddie parade where hundreds of kids dress in their costumes and parade down through the main street for everyone to see. The queen and her court are driven in the parade as well as many jr high bands and floats.
This is myself, Taylor and my husband Mike the evening of the coronation.
 Taylor and her escort Brennen.
Taylor and a friend since preschool, Whitley who was crowned Miss. Poise.
My niece Brooke, who was gussied up in her formal with her date Rusty for the formal ball all the girls who participated get to attend. And Chelsea, my other niece, who came home from college to attend the coronation that night.
Taylor being escorted up the stairs to Memorial Hall where the event was held.
I snapped this pic the night of the talent portion of the week. Taylor did a hip hop routine for her talent and she received balloons and goodies from family and friends who supported her!
During the week prior to the talent and coronation the girls were invited to a pop party, a tea, a brunch and then were interviewed by judges and carefully watched to be chosen for the many titles awarded to the girls. Miss Photogenic, Miss Interview, Miss Beauty, Miss Congeniality, Miss Fashion, Miss Poise, and Miss Talent.
Here is Taylor and some other candidates sitting with a judge at one of the events. She is contestant #2.
This is the queen and her court. Taylor is third from the left!
This is one of her senior photos we chose to use to be used in the downtown window showcasing all of the candidates. Isn't she just beautiful!! We are so proud of her. She made alot of new friends and made new memories with many of her classmates. I think she gained alot of confidence during this time. She has told me several times how much fun she had! It was truly a great time for her!!

Schools Out!!!

Hi ladies, its been awhile since Ive added a post. School is out for the summer here as of yesterday! First full day home. Ive caught up on laundry and even pulled out some Fourth of July things. Here is my attempt at making faux enamel tags. I bought some wooden tags spray painted them white paint/primer then added some sticker numbers and painted some black around the edges to make them look chippy.
Then sprayed them a high gloss  clear. I like the looks of them. Ive added them here and there to some of my galvanized things.
Ive also been getting some projects done that I have meaning to do forever. One was these picture frame that I bought at Hobby Lobby for $5 each, the glass was broke out of them so they were clearanced. I sprayed them a high gloss black and cut out foam board to fit.
I them used spray adhesive to the foam board and added materials that worked in her room.
I got the mirrored words also at Hobby Lobby. I added push pins and she now can hang up her necklaces
I have had these old window frames just taking up room in my potting shed so I thought Id add some chicken wire. May try to sell them at my next tag sale!
I
Got a few new flowers for the deck!   Well enjoy your weekend :)
