My First Tag Sale of the Season

I hit a pretty good one on Saturday. I have stopped at this little lady's sale before. Her son was there selling some things. The garage was packed from floor to ceiling. He had no lighting and you couldn't see anything. I noticed an old sled and pulley hanging on the far wall. Of course he didn't want to sell those. Hadn't seen much and I saw this old twin bed spring he was using for a gate to keep in his lamah, yes a lamah! I asked if the bed spring was for sale. Sure he said, 3$, sold I said! Walking back through the garage I noticed this set of tub. It was full of mason jars, sure he'd sell it too he guessed~ 8$ sold I said.

The two old rakes were so cool looking I thought. $2~sold I said.
I also found these items for $5. I love the enamel bucket. Think I see some red geraniums in it this summer! My hubby ended up buying some old car way out in his field for $50. said we'd come back this summer after it has dried up and pull it out of the weeds. So he made some good money just off of us that day!

Actually this bed frame I saw coming from Walmart the other day. This old guy who scrounges for metal and then sells it to our local scrap metal place drove by me and I flagged him down and asked if I could buy it from him. He said sure but its not a complete bed. I assured him I just wanted to set it out under a tree at my place. I offered him $5 and loaded it in the suburban. San Antonio was fun. I'm 90% sure Ill never do it again. 12 hrs one way on a bus is too much for me! We had good weather the first two days the last day at Six Flags was about 45 degrees and a wind advisory!! That was no fun. Headed home and hit Oklahoma with snow and freezing rain. Hit home at Kansas to about 8 inches of snow. Glad to be home still trying to recover~~

Spring Rearranging

I ran up to my craft booth yesterday and had been looking at this sale for awhile. It was $12.50 and hadn't wanted to pay that, but it just kept calling my name. You ever had that happen? I'd look in a magazine and there would be a picture spread of a whole collection of scales on an old cabniet! Or a pic of a scale on a stove board. Every once in awhile I'd just think of that darn scale, so I thought what the heck and I just went up and brought it home! I do love it, it's very slim line.
I also found this great old lantern for $5 and of course the enamel pan for $2. The other day when I was in there a new lady was moving in with her new wares and I spied this pan and thought I need to go back and take a look at her stuff!!

I did some rearranging on my newly covered porch a few weeks ago. I had this sink and cabinet on my screened in back porch because I didn't want the cabinet getting wet, but now with my covered porch I drug it out here. I love it here. Everyone uses this patio door as our entrance so it will be greatly seen. Note my new lantern!

This is a view from the other side of the patio door. I brought my chalkboard from around the back porch too. Brought up an old green metal chair . Now I only need the Sanford and Son theme song playing!!! My dad says it's beginning to look like a junk yard around here.

A few gardening tools hanging out in an enamel pan.

And yesterday only because the sun came out for awhile. I drug this table out of the entryway and put a coat of good old black paint on it. Scuffed it up and added the things back on it. It really looks good because I have a black table and chairs and a black pie safe in there also. Well the hubby took today off to have about 5 loads of chipped up asphalt delivered for the circle drive. Now he will get to play with his little red tractor again today! Taylor and I leave for San Antonio TX. tomorrow evening. A chartered bus band trip, about 75 of us. Yippee! It is suppose to be 75 degrees there compared to 45-50 here. I'll take it!

My Birthday Girl

Taylor turns....15!!!!!!!! on Thursday!
Where do the days go?? March 11th, 1995 Taylor was placed in our arms to be ours forever. We were blessed by adoption that day and she has been the greatest joy of our lives. We waited for 11 yrs just for her. Many many times we wondered what God had in store for us leading us down this journey of infertility. Wow, many many tears were shed for many yrs wanting to be a family with a wee one. But she has been so worth the wait. For many yrs I wondered what I did to deserve this path of not being able to conceive. And then she was placed in our arms and I again wonder, Wow, what did I ever do to deserve this gift.

She fit so perfectly. She was such a good baby. Such a smart toddler. She is beautiful. I always had naturally curly hair and always wanted straight hair. She has the straightest hair I had so much fun styling when she was little. She looks so much like our family. She acts so much like me, and ladies sometimes that's not a compliment. I would swear she came from me. We have so many of the same mannerisms. God knew what he was doing when he picked us to be her parents. We have always shared with her, her adoption story. We have always told her she was ours from her conception. Even in her birthmothers womb she was meant to be ours. I so believe that. God is good!!!! Happy Birthday Taylor, we love you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
