Its been along time ladies. The fall weather is upon us here in Kansas. I have been so busy with my daughters activities in our hometown. As I have mentioned before we here in Independence celebrate Neewollah, (halloween spelled backwards. Its a week long celebration starting off with a musical, followed by a talent show of Senior girls from our local high school. My daughter Taylor on the right was crowned Miss Fashion! We are very proud of her. Sorry my pictures are backwards on this post.
She is seen here with Miss Talent, classmate Erin during one of the many parades we have in the week.
This was the kiddie parade where hundreds of kids dress in their costumes and parade down through the main street for everyone to see. The queen and her court are driven in the parade as well as many jr high bands and floats.
This is myself, Taylor and my husband Mike the evening of the coronation.
Taylor and her escort Brennen.
Taylor and a friend since preschool, Whitley who was crowned Miss. Poise.
My niece Brooke, who was gussied up in her formal with her date Rusty for the formal ball all the girls who participated get to attend. And Chelsea, my other niece, who came home from college to attend the coronation that night.
Taylor being escorted up the stairs to Memorial Hall where the event was held.
I snapped this pic the night of the talent portion of the week. Taylor did a hip hop routine for her talent and she received balloons and goodies from family and friends who supported her!
During the week prior to the talent and coronation the girls were invited to a pop party, a tea, a brunch and then were interviewed by judges and carefully watched to be chosen for the many titles awarded to the girls. Miss Photogenic, Miss Interview, Miss Beauty, Miss Congeniality, Miss Fashion, Miss Poise, and Miss Talent.
Here is Taylor and some other candidates sitting with a judge at one of the events. She is contestant #2.
This is the queen and her court. Taylor is third from the left!
This is one of her senior photos we chose to use to be used in the downtown window showcasing all of the candidates. Isn't she just beautiful!! We are so proud of her. She made alot of new friends and made new memories with many of her classmates. I think she gained alot of confidence during this time. She has told me several times how much fun she had! It was truly a great time for her!!
