Took a day off...

First of all here is a snap shot of my darling daughters new hair cut. All grown up! Just decided to get a shot doo all the sudden this week. I think it's a great start to her new college life. Isn't she precious!!

I took a personal day today, have to take two per yr. My plans were to get up and hit all the tag sales!! Sounds like fun, well we are having a down pour all day long. I mean hard rain too. Woke up to no electricity. Taylor had to run to neighbors to blow dry her hair. I guess I will shower and clean house. This sucks!

Spring Snow

Well even though we are coming off of spring break this morning and will return to finish out the school yr. in the morning, we have had a beautiful snowfall. We woke up to the trees covered in a powdery frosting.
The old vintage chairs have a new wet cushion of snow. I love how the iron trim around the birdbath looks!
The galvanized chicken feeder on the patio table has a snow white topper.
No need to worry about that mower seeing any work today!
I enjoy watching the squirrels use this old apple ladder to scamper up the tree. It would be a slick one today.

This is a rain chain off my deck, this morning it is collecting crystal flakes.
A chilly dream this would be this morning. I love how the snow is sticking to the old gate.
Well I am so ready for spring I can hardly stand it. And honestly didn't think we'd see snow again this season. But I am thankful I was able to be home inside my warm house to see it and not have to get out. The birds have enjoyed a bountiful tray of seed on the deck and the temps are already clearing the roads. So I will enjoy it for today and dream of warm temps and that beautiful sunshine.

Ok, I spotted these almost a yr ago in an alley. This week I found the owner at her business and ask her if she wanted to sell them. $5 bucks bought all three of them. I brought two of them up to the porch. Cleaned them off. Let them dry!
I love the patina they have collected all this time in the outdoors!
I saw this idea on Funky Junk Interiors blog site. I attached them to the wall and added a few things. I know I will change it out, take things away and add more things but I thought Id blog about it today!
I had this old frame. I added some twine and a few old pictures.
 A few odds and ends.
 A few kiddos I don't know.

I love this old message board, thanks Donna for the great idea!!

Black and White

Well Ive changed up my mantle since the holidays. Just awaiting spring. I went with black and white. Love the look! I have a few old alarm clocks I have picked up along the way.
I picked this dairy bucket up at Hobby Lobby. I also bought a few tins that match.
Also got this Public Telephone sign at Hobby Lobby. Just had to have it. Didn't know what I would do with it at the time, but just knew I could use it somewhere sometime!
Here's a good look at the finish display. I found the window panes last summer and chalk painted them. I have about 3 of em.
I love the just patina on the new sign.
Gotta love any old watering can but I just love the curling spout. Makes me ready for spring even more. We've had one good snowfall here in Indy Ks. Not much to speak of. Melted the next morning, tomorrow is expected to get almost to 60 so Ive put away all my snowmen and winter garland and brought out the ivy.
Remember my 2 yr old puppy Ollie, hes having a rough time. Something is attacking his intestines and were dealing with constant diarrhea, the throwing up has stopped. He has dropped so much weight. He's never been this thin. Due to the diarrhea he bloats up and we've had him to the vet twice to have fluid drained off his tummy. We've done 2 antibiotics and now are on a steroid and fluid pills twice a day. I thought we had lost him last weekend. The vet hasn't given us much hope but he does seem more active and his appetite is better. He had Protein Losing Enopathy. Were ready for him to start to feel better:) Well have a great weekend. Ive had a little trouble with blogger and my cable hookup they wanted and upgrade or something. I haven't been able to log onto blogger, I did something tonight that got it going, for now anyway. Enjoy your weekend ladies!!

New Christmas present to myself!

I bought myself a Cricut. I have seen so many fun things on Pintrest and I hope to use it on some of my projects that I have been using stenciling on. Anxious to use some vinyl I bought today!
I was given this old Harpers magazine and I just love the old pages in it.

So I cut out some 2x4 blocks sanded and painted them antique.
Punched out some lettering on the cricut!
Tore out some pages from the magazine.
Modpodged them onto the blocks and wala!

I like how they turned out and I am having fun with it. Lots of ideas on Pintrest!

Sleigh Bells Ring, Are You Listening...

Got a ll my fall stuff put away when the weather was really warm. So it's officially Christmas time here at our house. Just a little greenery on the deck to greet the guest.
Santa has left his red long underwear once again at the door on the sled.
For the last several years I have opted for two pencil trees together instead of my big tree.
Frostys hat has landed atop the tree!
I grudged up a few dollar tree Santa hats a few yrs ago and just love them on top of a small tree near the fireplace.
The old mailbox slot cabinet above the couch.

I chalked an old window frame that I found along the road this summer. Junk Sale!

Santa on an old couple of wooden crates.
This year is the first yr. I have put a sled on the kitchen island. Saw it on another blog!
Used some garland and a jingle bell or two along with an old grudged up tag.

 Dining room table.

An old tool box my cousin found for me all gussied up for the winter holidays. I find every yr. I'm starting to put out more winter things that I can keep out all season. Id like to get to a point some yr and just use winter and junk to decorate with. Old tools, attachments. Ill have to start looking this summer at tag sales.
I was thinking about something new for a few of my living rm. cabinets and I thought aha a couple old rusty mailboxes I have out in the yard. I grudged up a few envelopes and addressed a few and slide them in the mailbox!!

A country Christmas with a few mason jars and lights. It reflects so pretty at night. Another old window frame I chalked up.

Bring on the snow!! Have a great week!!
